SLA Delivery System and Ethernet Service Monitoring

RAD’s EtherAccess EchoVault is a standalone SLA delivery and service monitoring system, designed for carriers and service providers delivering Carrier Ethernet services over large networks. The system provides a service-centric end-to-end view of SLA performance per EVC.CoS (Ethernet virtual connection class of service) and collects KPI (key performance indicators) data from RAD’s EtherAccess devices, as well as from third-party equipment with relevant API support. EtherAccess EchoVault integrates with existing OSS/BSS systems to provide service performance information required for billing and operations.

Currently available for limited release.

The transition to next-generation packet networks and Carrier Ethernet services requires service providers to offer their business and wholesale customers stringent SLA (service level agreement) guarantees. However, service commitments mandate appropriate tools to monitor and manage network and service performance levels at all times.

The system enables end-to-end performance and SLA testing per CoS, with service configuration and troubleshooting capabilities. Ongoing monitoring is performed per ITU-T Y.1731, including Frame Delay, Delay Variation, Frame Loss, and Availability. Automatic RFC-2544 capabilities also support service turnup testing. In addition, service creation support enables remote configuration and execution of shaping, policing, filtering, VLAN tagging, and other functionalities.
