ETX-26

Managed Ethernet Switch

ETX-26 is a managed Ethernet access switch featuring non-blocking architecture, small form factor and low power consumption. It is ideal for Ethernet Private Line connectivity and LAN-to-LAN interworking in campus deployments and for small to medium enterprises. In addition, the ETX-26 features proprietary Power over Ethernet capabilities, to be used in conjunction with RAD’s Airmux-200/400 broadband wireless radios as a single indoor device for Ethernet connectivity and ODU power feeding.

Currently available for limited release.

Ethernet capabilities and differentiated QoS

The ETX-26 supports VLAN-aware and VLANunaware, as well as VLAN stacking (Q-in-Q) operation. It enables differentiated QoS (quality of service) per port, VLAN priority (P-bit), DSCP, or ToS. The ETX-26 supports four priority queues per Ethernet port with configurable scheduling (Strict Priority or WFQ) to accommodate service requirements of real-time, priority data or besteffort traffic. In addition, the device supports ingress and egress rate limiting to control the use of available bandwidth.

Ethernet ring protection

ETX-26 features Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) per ITU-T G.8032, enabling link resiliency with less than 50 ms failover time to ensure high survivability and service continuity in the event of link failures.

Dying gasp and management

The ETX-26 supports fault localization and accurate reporting of critical events to reduce OpEx. Its dying gasp feature enables carriers to pinpoint the reason a customer connection is down (power failure or CPE problem), minimizing costly technician visits for false alarms.

The unit can be managed using the following ports and applications:

  • Local management via an ASCII terminal (RS-232)
  • Inband management via any of the Ethernet ports
  • Remote management via Telnet, Web browser, or an SNMP-based management system
